At GCCDD, we were excited to participate in the recent Touch a Truck event on February 8th, where children got the chance to explore and learn about the big machines we work with every day!

We brought along two of our heavy-duty vehicles—an excavator and a dump truck—giving kids the opportunity to climb inside, honk the horn, and even pretend they were the ones operating these powerful machines. It was a hands-on experience that allowed us to connect with our community in a fun and educational way.

Our team was on hand to explain how the excavator helps us dig, while the dump truck hauls heavy materials to keep our projects moving forward. It was great to see kids ask questions and get excited about the role these machines play in our work.

We love being part of these events, as they provide an opportunity to inspire the next generation to think about careers in construction and engineering. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and are thankful to everyone who joined us!
