On May 21st, the IDRT team conducted a productive site visit alongside several key members of our leadership and project partners. We were joined by Board President Rusty Burkett; Vice President David L. Johnson; District Engineer Scott Sheridan; Field Superintendent Randy Roland; and myself, Paige Bailey, Executive Director.

Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Juan, Dr. Nick Diaz, and Dr. Federico Antolini for their collaboration and expertise during the visit.

The day focused on identifying optimal locations for soil sampling, planning drone operations, and looking at the current gates systems. These elements are essential to our ongoing assessment and improvement efforts in the region.

In addition to the technical work, the visit also provided a valuable opportunity to share local perspectives and stories about historical and recent flooding. We discussed how development has influenced these patterns and reaffirmed our commitment to solutions that are both effective and community-informed.

We appreciate everyone who contributed their time and insight to the visit. The collaboration and shared knowledge are what make progress possible.
