A Productive Day at the Texas State Capitol

On April 2, I had the honor of traveling to Austin alongside Board President Rusty Burkett and COO Samantha Haritos for a productive day at the Texas State Capitol.

We had the opportunity to meet with State Senator Mayes Middleton and Representative Jeff Barry to discuss our ongoing work, future initiatives, and how we can continue to be strong local partners in addressing drainage and infrastructure challenges. We’re especially grateful to Representative Barry for coordinating a meeting with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to explore potential partnership opportunities, and for the photo opportunity on the floor of the House of Representatives.

While we also made a brief visit to Representative Greg Bonnen’s office, his schedule did not allow for a meeting this time—we look forward to connecting with him in the future.

Our time at the Capitol was both inspiring and energizing. Sharing our mission and discussing ways to better serve our citizens with state leadership is a vital part of ensuring we remain aligned and effective in our efforts.

Thanks and gig’em
